UMW Toyota Experience at Segambut, KL

If there is one thing I don't get it, it's the Malaysian Time phenomenon. For those who are not Malaysian, Malaysian Time denotes the punctuality of typical Malaysians. Say you are supposed to meet up at 1pm, expect your friends to show up at least after 2pm. The same goes for appointment, why make people book appointment and make them wait?

So recently I scheduled an appointment for my first service at Toyota Segambut Service Center in KL. When I received the sms reminder I was kinda impressed and looked forward for the experience.

I had to work half day on that Saturday, so I informed the customer service to book at 1:45pm.Told them I only had time after 1pm before 4pm (another appointment). Funny lady still insisted to book me at 11am. "Miss, just told ya my work is from 9am to 1pm on Sat". But in the end I managed to get 1:45pm slot.

Work Ends: 1pm
Appointment: 1:45pm
Arrived: 1:55pm
Waited: 2:25pm

Went to ask the receptionist when will it be my turn? She said to wait another 15 minutes at least as there were 5 people ahead of me. I was getting impatient and asked if they had appointments? Unanswered..

"Guaranteed 90 minutes service" - I have no objection to this cause I did experienced 90 minutes. But what happens before 90 minutes is a total different story.

2:40pm - Called and served by Service Advisor. Poor guy was told off my me, frustrated of the waiting time and what was promised by their receptionist. Told him that I have another appointment at 4pm, he needs to speed everything.

To add on to the unpleasant experience, the very sad waiting area. It's such a turn off that there are used cups, tissues and empty water bottles everywhere. It was such an eye sore. The condition was so since I arrived at 1:55pm to 3:45pm. Furthermore, on the far end it says FREE Wifi, but was unable to connect at all. I think the saying "Nothing in life is free" is true after all.

3:40pm - Prompted to have my car as I needed to rush for my 4pm appointment.
3:45pm - Finally got my car, just under 90 minutes. But the waiting time just pisses me off. Left a 2015 calendar on the passenger seat.

4:15pm - Late for my appointment and was so tired that I couldn't focus.

2 Days Later - Got a call on follow up service. Gave my honest feedback and hopefully something will be done about it.

This will probably be my first and last visit to this service center.
