The days of being a couch potato were so vivid in my memories, where I enjoyed and got hooked to the likes of cooking shows. While eating my simple, homemade dish, I often feel bad for myself as I salivate over the most wicked recipes ever! And it's interesting how cooking shows are slowly shifting away from the kitchen built studio and into the outdoors. Nevertheless, I really enjoy watching how food competition is done in food trucks and how teams compete in terms of taste, profit and bringing comfort food convenience to the people out there.
The 'food truck' trend started ages ago - back then cendol/rojak trucks parked under trees were the first ones to have started this. The only difference is that their trucks are not as beautifully decorated as the current 'food trucks'. It's not a new sight for the past 2-3 years, where you'll see a booming number of food trucks selling everything from coffee, pastry, Italian, Western and everything food in areas like Publika, Subang, PJ and KL City.
I was in The School Jaya One for work and it's such a wonderful sighting of food trucks lined up in front of the building and crowd just seemed to get hooked on the various food choices. More of a family friendly place where kids can be left to have fun, while adults can just hang out and chill over coffee within the Jaya One vicinity. And...don't forget to try the Thai Street Food Store..pretty good and reasonably priced!
