Hey peeps, happy weekend! And hope all is good - except for the cray weather since last week. *ac bills so gonna be high this month!
To be honest, I've been having the worst lifestyle ever and pms has been the worst these couple of months. And goodness I chanced upon good Miri, homegrown dried longans (from backyard - thanks Mama Ting). Mama says my blood circulation hasn't been the best, and my qi (energy) levels have been weak. She highly recommended making red dates tea +her organic home dried longans.
This combination is super beneficial to health - improves blood circulation, nourishes the body energy & beneficial for healthy liver. Sounds like elixir of life huh? 😊
Fresh off the yard - Dried organic longans from backyard - super sweet!
In Malaysia we have this term called 'agak-agak' which means estimate. There's no right ratio, just go with your instinct. This is the ratio I went with for single person - makes about 3-4 cups.
In a small pot, add water till 3/4 full. You can go with slow cooker if ya'll lazy and just dump everything in. Add your red dates and boil for about 30 minutes.
Add your dried longans in when it's reduced and let boil for another 15-20 mins or longer. If you like em sweet, don't forget your sugar /rock sugar. But if you're as lazy as moi, just skip it. Taste it and when it's nicely infused, turn the gas off and consume while it's hot. If you like it cold, add sugar (previous step) and let it cool before storing in the fridge.
If you wanna be even Chinese, you can also add dried goji berries - good for the 👀 and blood circulation too.
Tadah! My version of dried longan red date tea. As you can see the seed is still intact with the longan. Wishing you happy trying & good health!
Xoxo
